Time Is On The Fly

Wow time is really moving fast now. I have only two weeks left in France and I am NOT ready to leave. I have so enjoyed my time here: the people, the work, the food, and all of the fun times we have had so far. These past two weeks there has been a youth camp here so lots of bathroom cleaning and laundry (ironing included won't my mom be proud of me). This youth group is very creative i have seen them create some very creative crafts here and it is great to see them enjoy their time here and wonderful to hear their worship music throughout the days. I went on a hike with the Hockings at a beautiful and interesting village called Blanot. It was truly an enjoyable time with them. I love enjoying the countryside that I get to see everyday. There are so many places to see here and hear about the history of them. I celebrated my Birthday a couple days ago and was taken to a wonderful town called Tourney with small shops and a really old church that was beautiful (i think Notre Dame has some competition) I got to hear about some of the history of the church also which is always interesting to hear.
Prayers:
These last two weeks will be productive
The rest of the team that the rest of the year will go well for them.
Praise:
For all of the projects that got done this summer and the friendships that were made.

Busy Time

These past few weeks have been tremendously busy. There were a couple of wedding receptions here and we cooked for an anniversary. Debbie did a wonderful job cooking a special meal for the anniversary couple, it was a full French meal. There has been lots of cleaning and cooking going on these past few weeks. The Lititz, Pennsylvania work team arrived a week ago and have been working on projects around the Chateau, such as fixing the chimney and walls surrounding the Chateau. A quilting group has been here last week as well so in all there have been around 60 mouths to cook for so lots of fun and delicious smells coming from the kitchen. The end of the day is tiring and sleep is welcomed, but the work is enjoying and spending time with the time is very nice. This weekend I joined the Lititz team on a winery tour it was really nice. The winery had Roman ceilings and original stone from when it was built I believe. The Lititz team will be here another week and on Friday I will join them on a trip to Paris of which I am really excited for. Were going to Notre Dame and The Eiffel Tower and hopefully get a chance to walk around and explore a little.

Prayers:
The Lititz team enjoys their time here, stays safe, and has a good journey home
The team can have a relaxing week after all the work of cooking and cleaning
The team will be safe in Paris and have a wonderful experience

Working and Having Fun!

Hi everyone its been a busy couple of weeks at the Chateau. So far i Have done some cleaning and helped a bit with moving stones around as the guys work on the terrace (which is now complete and looking fierce). The terrace is really beautiful the guys did a great job. This past weekend was my first group, no cooking for them though, but clean up begins soon. I have had a chance to explore around with the Hockings and Driesbachs getting to see other Chateaus, castles, and of course picnicing. I have also enjoyed have the river so close by which makes very nice for bike rides and walks in the evenings. I attend a church in Macon every Sunday it is quite small compared to back home, but the people are nice and the sermons are good (from what I can understand of it) I even recognized some French songs thanks to Prof Schram.
Some Prayers and Praises:
Praise that Debbie had a great time in her cooking class and graduated.
Prayer for fellow teammates Dreisbachs as they continue learning the language and save travels as they explore France and that they settle in well and have a great year here.
Prayer: That i can learn the language to understand people and pray for the summer that it is a good one for the Chateau and the team.

I Am Here!

Hello France! I arrived here last Thursday afternoon. Thank you all for your prayers and thoughts I was really nervous about flying by myself, but everything went really well. My favorite airport that I went through was Lyon, because when I got off the plane I didn't have to go through security again yay! For a few days I caught up on sleep and unpacked. I got a tour of the Chateau and found it to be even bigger and better than in the pictures I have seen. On the weekend the whole group went on a picnic and toured a castle, which had a moat how awesome it that! I have enjoyed my time here so far and have enjoyed hanging out with my two house mates. Went grocery shopping today and found Philadelphia cream cheese and bought Gouda cheese, which always reminds me of the movie "She's the Man." I have a feeling that this summer is going to go fast, but it is going to be the best summer thus far. But I do I did not pack for cold weather uh-oh lol. well for now Au revoir!

Packing, Packing, and Packing

So not much has been going on besides waiting and packing. This is the longest trip I have had to pack for and frankly I did not realize all there is that I would need to fit into one suitcase or how much room shoes take up. I must say I am most nervous about the plane ride and layovers and I will be relieved when I get there, but God will be with me all throughout the airport and on the planes watching over me. Well as I have been home waiting and spending last moments with friends and family I get more and more excited for France and The Chateau although it took a while for me to get really pumped it just didn't feel real until now. I thank you all for your prayers, happy wishes and thoughts and I hope to have more regular updates in the future as more exciting things happen!

So i am excited to say I have my tickets!! I am both excited and nervous mostly about flying. I have never flown by myself before so this will be a new experience for me as well as France. I would like to thank everyone who worked hard to get me to France. Right now the ending of this school semester is coming to a close and my days are filled with exams and packing. In 16 days I will be on the plane headed to the Chateau. Please pray for save travels and that I won't get lost in the airports hehe.

New News!

Well as you know I will only be going to the Chateau for 3 months this summer. A lot of support has come in, in the past month and a half and I have just about all of my support. I was very excited to hear this and am anticipating leaving on May 25th. I would like to thank Woman of Grace for awarding my a scholarship for my internship which helped a lot. It was really a blessing to see God putting everything together so that this could happen. Please keep in touch and thank you for reading!
